My Sweet Valentine

Had the best Valentine's ever! :)

I am so touched that he waited for nearly 2 hours for me as he ended work earlier than me and I had to travel down all the way to town. I felt really bad but I had no choice. I'm so thankful for his patience. hehe.

Had dinner at Tea Cosy, this really romantic place at Plaza Singapura, the place was filled with Angels! (: He was early so he guessed what I would order and I did order that. haha. Miso Dory for me; which was quite salty (it's miso after all) while he ordered steak and potatoes.

Next, we went to have ice cream at Ben&Jerry's! Four scoops somemore! Chocolate mint, chocolate therapy, Phish food and Strawberry cheesecake. :D

After such a satisfying dinner, we walked all the way to city hall and sat somewhere to chat.

We always have endless conversations that never end but has to because of time. (:

Everyday feels like Valentine's day with you. Because I love you (:

School has been aweeeesoomme!!

And it will get better!!! :D :D

I was trained in some basic lab techniques for the past two weeks. I am now supposed to be working with a post-doc on a project but as he needs to submit his paper draft to the prof, he said we would start next week so that he can better focus on teaching me.

So..yay! After CNY, it's gonna get betterrr!!! Woooo! Can't wait to start on my research and thesis writing. Now should worry about my exams too. hehe.

Chinese New Year is coming!

This year, ZY is going to Chiang Mai with his family, so we won't be spending time together. But it's okay (:

It's weird, but I'm just more super excited about the after CNY part. CNY....is gonna be the same ol' - "are you attached?", "what are you doing now?", "how's life" etc etc etc. heh.

It's really late now coz I just finished baking those cornflake cookies. This year my mum actually requested, for the first time, for me to bake something for new year. lol. And I chose cornflake cookies coz just nice I was craving it! And Christina was craving it too! hehe :D

Gonna sleep already. Very very tired. LOL.

First day of school tomorrow!!!

OMG.

Finally, the countdown has ended and it's first day of school tomorrow.

I dunnoe what I'm feeling now. Excited yet really nervous yet worried that the transport system will fail on my first day of school especially after what happened today on the circle line which I need to take tomorrow.

I.cannot.be.trapped.underground. or I will get claustrophobic.

Other than that, I think I am actually leaning towards being excited about school. Imagine the experiments I can do...ahhh :D

We found our way back..

Well, maybe I should finally clear the shock and air regarding my new relationship.

Yep, he was from 4B in CCHB while I was in 3B. We were really good friends during secondary school and he was actually my guy best friend. He was there for me when I needed him.

We kinda liked each other in secondary school but it never materialized because somehow I felt it wasn't the right time. I just thought he was my really good friend.

Somehow, we contacted for awhile last year or two years ago and then we stopped.

About half a year ago, we contacted again for some reason which we don't think was a coincidence and we kinda went right back to being good friends again. For both of us, it felt like we did not lose the 8 years at all. We were comfortable with each other and we could be who we were because we already were friends. We have so much in common and we like doing the same things. Both of us like to cook, we love biology, we can talk about almost anything and we enjoy each other's company.

And so, during new year, he asked me the same question as 8 years ago. We have matured so much and experienced life during this 8 years. Now, the timing is right.

I said yes :)

Happy New Year everyone!!! What an awesome start to the new year!

I watched the most spectacular fireworks at MBS of which at the same time I am attached again in this new year! More details next time ;) Right now, it's resolutions time again! Let's look back at what my resolutions were last year and check them off the list:

1. Read the Bible as often as I can. [Well, sometimes I am guilty of not reading enough, but I am going for regular bible study more than last year, so I guess that counts? :)]
2. Stay healthy and gain more weight (I really have to gain more weight!!)[Yes I did. I lost 4 kg after the breakup and managed to gain back 5 after pulling myself back up. I feel more empowered now!]
3. Score well for the last stage of my degree and dissertation and hopefully attain first class honours (= [Yep, done and also managed to clinch an award]
4. Find a job and work hard at it. [Loved working at FedEx!]
5. Score well for my GRE [Yep, check]
6. Continue to love my bf, family and friends very much (= [Minus the bf part, the rest done!]

So, let's check out my new year resolutions for 2012!!!

New Year's resolution 2012
1. Go to church and read the bible as often as I can and grow in faith each day.
2. Achieve good results for my courses in my Masters.
3. Obtain some breakthrough in research (anything small is good too).
4. Make lots of new friends in school!!!!
5. Bake more yummy desserts!
6. Continue to gain more weight and stay healthy.
7. Spend more time with my loved ones despite my busy schedule.

It's 20th of December!

This month has passed so quickly!!!! Still have not finished clearing up my room :( Which I really need to..for a fresh new year and beginning.

20 more days till first day of school!! Really so excited!!!

Listening to Christmas songs now on such a wet weather, really feels like Christmas already. hehe.

So many activities leading up to Christmas day too. :)

Farewell FedEx :(

I left FedEx on Nov 30th. It was the saddest farewell ever from a workplace.

I have made so many wonderful friends there and we still are even though I'm no longer working there. In fact, we are meeting up soon for Christmas!! So Excited!!!

Thanks Jasmine, Shwu Ling, Jane, Cindy and Winnie for the Polaroid for farewell!! I really really love it so much!! I was contemplating on whether I should get a Polaroid or Lomo and I am so glad they got me the Polaroid :D Thanks all for the big Giant card too!!! I am still so touched even till now when I think about it.

It was a tearful farewell on 30th :(

I went back again to visit on Tuesday and they were all really happy to see me as much as I was really happy to see them too :) I miss them soooo much!!!!!

Thank you all again for the wonderful experience and I will NEVER forget every single one of you. Our friendship will never end (: Love you all!!!! <3 <3 <3

On another note, my mum got me a new Laptop!!! Asus U36S. Super Light!! and White too. I had requested for a laptop but did not expect her to really get one for me. I told her I needed a light one to bring to school and it really is!!

So excited to start school!!! Attend lessons, perform experiments. Finally, I am much closer to my dream of becoming a scientist. To be able to contribute something to Cancer Research. And it's all possible because of God's grace. He has been so kind to me. I have been soooooo blessed beyond my wildest dreams. God is great!!! Praise the Lord!!!! (:

Graduate Studies!!!

Yay!!!! I was offered admission to NTU for Master of Science earlier this week!

I've already accepted their offer!!

According to their calendar, I will be starting school on 9th Jan. So excited!!!!

On 15 Dec I am going there for the Matriculation, which is like the official registration to be the student there.

But sadly, my last day with FedEx is on 30th Nov which is next wednesday. Though I feel sad to be leaving, I am really excited to start a new chapter in my life!

Can't wait!!!! 2012 will be an awesome year!!! :D

Graduation!!!!

YAY!! Finally graduated already! After a 3-yr course and another 1 yr wait for the ceremony, we've finally all gotten our certificate yesterday and are all B.Sc graduates! (:

Woke up at around 6 plus 7 to get ready and reached the venue at 8:50 a.m.

After the registration and briefing, it was already 10.45 a.m. and we have to be seated by 11.15 a.m. and waited till 12p.m. before the ceremony started.

After all the speeches, it was around 1.15p.m. before the certificates were presented.

Our school of Life Sciences went up first so we were the first hundred. But after that, I had to be seated elsewhere as I was to be awarded the Academic Achievement Award -Bronze, and will be presented after everyone has gone up.

So then went the 2-hour wait, after about 600+ more names were read and gone up, it was our turn!

The whole thing ended around 4.30p.m.

I thought my mother would not be coming but while I was on stage taking photo, I saw her walking along the front and we both smiled at each other. I knew she was happy and proud of me (: I was so glad she came.

After that, went for dinner and desserts with the few of us and we had a crazy good time reminiscing on the fun we had during school days.

We're now moving on to a new chapter of our lives and I hope that I would be getting a favorable reply next week on my Masters application (:

Bintan Escapade!!

Yay!! Went to Bintan last week!!

Unfortunately, I was sick two days before the trip. TWO. TWO days before the trip. sigh. Anyway, I had fever the night before Bintan, when I woke up I still had a slight one but I went ahead anyway.

It was funnnn!!!!! Although the first day by the time we checked in it was quite late and we just went for a swim and then an hour of Indonesian Massage. Dinner was goood. 7 course dishes for 4 people...we managed to finish :D hehe.

On the second day, Cristal and I woke up pretty early and wanted to watch the sunrise which sadly couldn't be seen from our window :P so we went back to sleep before waking up to go to the beach! Then had breakfast. Moved on to Archery and then bowling before going back to the Ferry Terminal.

It was a reallly short trip and we wished we could have stayed longer. Thank God that we were kept safe and the weather was AWESOME!!!

When I came back though, my fever came back too. LOL. and I'm like only 90% recovered..still slightly sick.

I suspect it could be because there was no salsa lesson for 2 weeks and I didn't take much of my vitamin water. Salsa + vitamin keeps me healthy! :D

Hmm..Haven't updated for some time. Last week I wanted to update about something interesting but I forgot.

Anyway, these days at work are just busy busy busy. OT at least once a week. Sigh. So stressed too. What to do? Work life is such.

At least I have my online shopping to cheer me up :D Don't know buy how many and how much alr :p but I love every single piece I bought! They are all sooo nice :))

Oh ya. I'm learning Salsa now too! hehe. It has been so fun and I think it's a great workout as well :p at least I'm doing some exercise hahaha.

Somehow, a few weeks ago, I finally realize and experience for myself, something so important in life that we often neglect/forget and that is - Happiness comes from within.

No one in your life can make you happy except yourself. People can be nice to you, give you gifts to make you happy but if you do not love yourself or feel you do not deserve such gifts/gestures then you'll never be happy. Only you can feel that happiness inside yourself. Only by loving yourself will you be able to allow others to make you happy.

So think about what you have in life, what is happening in your life, every little thing you experience each day, even if it's something as simple as taking in the fresh air, enjoying the birds singing or watching the clouds go by in the beautiful blue sky. Appreciating all you have in life and not wanting more will help you learn to not take things for granted and just simply be happy :))

I thank God each day for giving me all that I have now and I'm glad that everything in my life seems to be finally falling into place and I am right where I'm supposed to be :)

23!!!

Turning 23 was the BEST thing that ever happened to me.

23 was truly the turning point in my life where I enter a new phase in life, as a better, wiser and experienced person.

At 21, we all officially become adults, but are still new to being one.

22 was a kinda in-the-middle phase where we start to be busy with our school/studies.

At 23, most of us have gone into the working world, or are going to further our studies. But most of us have all graduated from university and are entering a new stage where we truly experience the real essence of life; fraught with the challenges, tests and dilemmas it brings. Not forgetting happy moments as well :)

For me, my birthday was truly memorable because I was surrounded by my friends and family whom I know has and will always love me for who I am and are always here for me through everything and anything.

You girls have been with me through secondary school, through my crushes, my first bf, my anxiety attacks, family crisis. You girls spent a night with me for my 23rd birthday I will never forget. Desaru Tripppp!!! -10 July

Went to Desaru for a short holiday with my friends on the 10th July! [click the title for photos!]

It was a truly exciting moment when I reached the customs because I have never been out of Singapore before (except when I was young but I have no recollections at all, so not counted :p).

Finally, my passport has its first stamp! lol.

When the bus drove along the causeway and I watched as we entered Malaysia, the feeling of leaving my own country was simply exhilarating and any fear of anything was just forgotten.

We had breakfast at a coffeeshop then moved on the Desaru fruit farm where our group was actually not paying attention to the farm guide but were frantically taking photos. hehe.

Then we had a wonderful baby lobster seafood lunch at a restaurant before we went to the beach for a short while. We tweaked the itinerary a little by requesting to go for go-kart but it was not worth the time and price when we reached. Then we proceeded to the Ostrich farm where..well..as the name suggests, we went to interact with the ostriches. lol.

Shopping was next at Kota Tinggi mall but we met with a heavy thunderstorm that forced the bus to take shelter at a nearby petrol station for safety reasons.

The trip so far may sound boring, but then comes the highlight of the trip that made it all worthwhile: Fireflies along the river at night.

The cool weather after the rain made it even more perfect. The fireflies were like flashing lights on a Christmas tree. The tour guide even caught one and showed us!! Too bad we couldn't take photos as it would scare them.

We arrived back in Singapore punctually at 10p.m. as planned. It's all thanks to God that everything went as planned especially being able to see the fireflies at night after the thunderstorm :)

It was an awesome first trip out of Home.

Update

Wow..5 months since I last updated. So many things happened.

Sadly, we parted ways. It was still messy when it ended, I would say. Started about 2 months ago. We struggled to see if we could salvage the situation but it was a point of no return and it ended a month ago.

Life is good now for me :). Feels kinda good to be out there again. Enjoying more quality time with my close friends and family. And I'm closer to my mum now too. My life is only just beginning and getting better everyday.

I've started work too!! At FedEx and I'm lovin' it!! Work may be stressful at times but time passes really fast and I've worked for a month already. I love all my dear colleagues there and they're really great fun :D

Like I said, Life is just beginning for me and I'm so excited to start my Masters next year if I get accepted :) God has been reallllly so good to me and I just thank Him everyday for everything he has given me and shown me. Thank you Lord!!

Chinese New Year!

Tomorrow would be Chinese New Year eve.

For some, CNY is a day they dread with spring cleaning to do, relatives' tough questions they need to battle but for others it's a joyous day filled with laughter, catching-up and many goodies to eat.

Some years I belong to the former group while most others, I belong to the latter, which I'm sure we all might be at some point in our lives.

This year I belong to the latter group.

I actually enjoyed spring cleaning this year. In fact, I threw away probably 70% of my room and I hadn't realized I have so much junk I do not need and I couldn't believe I'm actually still keeping them!

Plus having just completed my undergraduate studies, the spring cleaning felt like a new beginning where I can start afresh in a new chapter in my life. And I can get new things again with so much space to spare :p

Having been sick during the christmas/new year season which dampened my mood, finally it really feels like a new year is beginning. I guess this is the true essence of ushering the new year which is a belated one for me this year.

Nonetheless, I am also excited about being able to wear the new shoes and carry the bag I've been eyeing on that my mum had bought for me.

This year I am really excited about the New Year. Are you?

2010 ending soon..

Can't believe that in a few days it'll be 2011. How fast this year has passed.

I'd been battling a dreadful cold for the past 2 weeks that it even dampened my mood for Christmas. It feels so good to be healthy and well again. It's really important to take care of our health because it allows us to enjoy all the good things in life (=

Today, I just received a very heartwarming Christmas card from Momoko all the way from Tokyo! It really touches my heart that she sends me a card every year. I miss her very much and having received her card today just reminds me that no matter what happens to me in life, I know I have my good friends around me I can count on.

As always, its time for my New Year's Resolutions again...

Last year, these were my resolutions for 2010:

2. To stay healthy and gain more weight!
3. Score well for the last stage of my degree/dissertation
4. Continue to love my bf as much as I do now (= [not much of a resolution because its alr accomplished heh]

Well I think I accomplished only resolution 1, 4 and 6. I still don't know what's my results for the last stage of my degree and dissertation so I can't really determine that. My weight and the number of friends remain the same so I didn't really accomplish 2 and 5. hehe.

Harry Potter Review!!

I just realized I haven't reviewed the harry potter movie yet.

It's been a week since I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1.

Well I think most fans or non-fans might feel this movie kind of incomplete. Seeing as it's part 1, definitely the ending was a cliff-hanger. It was clear the CGI effects were good and so were the acting of the now very experienced blooming actors - Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

I would advise those who are going to watch this to perhaps if possible, watch the book 6 movie - Harry Potter and the Half-blood prince - again before watching this. It really helped me to understand more, unlike my boyfriend who kept asking me questions throughout the movie lol (but of course I don't mind that :p).

[Spoiler alert]

I was however disappointed that they only showed one horcrux and how they destroyed it because there is supposed to be 7 of which 2 were already destroyed before this movie and this is the 3rd which leaves 4 horcruxes into part 2. It might seem too much to fit into a movie but the adventure and mystery that lies ahead in part 2 is definitely something to look forward to with anticipation and excitement. Can't wait for that!

I'll give it a 4/5.

Public Holiday!

Today is a public holiday and usually for me it just means that my mum will be home haha. Now that I'm having my holidays, everyday feels like a public holiday :p

Anyway..my bf needed a pouch for his ipod earphones and though I suggested buying one, he wanted me to make one for him since I'm so free. He'd been bugging me to make him one soon so since I'm free today, I made one for him because just nice, my mum cut off a sleeve from an old shirt. The colour was so compatible with the blue string I bought, and it's a dark guy colour so it was just great. (=

Here's how it looks like:

I was actually hesitant on the position of the button or whether it should be there at all. At first I tried sewing his name at the bottom but it was too difficult and ugly :p also due to the stretchy nature of the cloth. I decided to add a black button in the middle so that it's not too plain and I hope it's unique (the ugly stitching might already make it so haha). Well, the fact that I made it it's already unique to him =D. I just hope it doesn't look girly at all. At least it's not pink. heh.

Around evening at 5 plus, my mum and I went to Hort park and walked the Alexandra Arch and the Treetop walk. Although I went to the treetop walk before, it was still scary for me because I'm terrified of heights and the bridge was like made with metal parts, I was so afraid of like what if they dismantle and break or sth lol. Then, there was a family of monkeys on the way and because they were so near and on the railing it was again a scary experience. I had to hold on to my mum and walk for that part haha. There was however, a very cute tiny little infant monkey which was the least scary. When we walked back the same bridge to the carpark, one of the monkeys attacked the plastic bag carried by a man and it had a packet of juice in it. My aunt always said it's better not to show any monkey you're holding a plastic bag because they'll attack it.

Today was pretty fulfilling actually. Did some sewing; took a walk in nature and get a short breather. Quite tired now though. Guess I'm sleeping early tonight. HARRY POTTER TOMORROW!!

Oh ya..forgot to mention that it's just so sad that somehow the release date for the movie was changed from Nov 18 (tmr) to 17 Nov (today!!). I only found out yesterday when I passed some posters. Sigh, I booked my Nov 18 tics weeks ago when it was supposed to be Nov 18 then they decided to change it. I would always catch Harry Potter on the date of its release and its just a pity I couldn't do that this year :(. But oh well, I can't wait for tmr still!! ((=

My Surprise Lunch for bf (=

Yesterday, I decided to surprise my bf who's working at the other side of the country from where I stay, with home-made lunch! =D

I cooked my renowned tuna aglio olio pasta and even queued for his favourite KOI bubble tea (=

Then I took a train down and when I was reaching soon, I sent him a really lame and funny sms to let him know that I'll be meeting him in 15 minutes. He said he was really pleasantly surprised!

We had to eat at a void deck of a HDB because obviously restaurants or food courts do not allow outside food haha. But as a result, I incurred multiple mosquito bites on my feet and I'm now worried abt dengue fever :/. I should never have showered with rose-scented shower gel and sprayed lily perfume -_-. Never again if I'm eating outdoor.

Anyways, he was reallly happy and touched! ((= Especially when I cooked the food and even bought his favourite drink hehe. He said he was sooo motivated to work after that that he cleared 6 cases out of 10! Which is like a lot.

Surprises are just so amazing coz it can really lift up someone's mood/spirit.

So why not plan a surprise for someone you love too? I'm sure it's a surprise they will never forget (=

Freedom at last!

Just submitted dissertation on Friday!

Finally! Today is the start of being reeeeally free (the weekend was spent with bf and at home hehe).

So far, I've watched "Sense and Sensibility" today again. What an amazing Jane Austen classic movie starring mega stars like Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant and especially Alan Rickman (professor snape in harry potter)!!!!It was just wonderful to watch it the second/third time.

Then I spent the rest of the afternoon watching Harry potter behind the scenes or bloopers on youtube. I'm soooo excited abt Thursday! It's the opening of the 7th and final harry potter movie: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1". I've already booked the tickets like two weeks ago. Can't wait!!!

Tomorrow I think I'll read something or do some arty-crafty stuff hehe. =D

Finally nearly done with dissertation

Finally!!! I'm inches away from finalizing everything. At least I've managed to edit and cut down till I meet 5000 word-limit.

I might need to read and re-read again during the weekend to check whether it flows.

Right now I'm just going to rest for awhile. It's been a loooong two weeks.

Anyway..finally all my exams are over!!! Now only left with Dissertation and I'll be free as a bird till graduation next year.

Oh..I'll be taking the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) in April so I'll be preparing for that (not exactly free as a bird then eh..) and I'm thinking of applying to NUS and NTU for graduate studies so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and praying that I'll hopefully be accepted (=

I was so stressed over the final module exam - biotechnology and genomes - but I'm soo glad its finally over! I'd rested over these few days and have been trying to edit my dissertation draft but my supervisor has yet to reply me. I'm kinda worried that i might need to have some kind of drastic change to my dissertation depending on her comments and i wonder if i'll have enough time to do so. sigh. I did already send a reminder email last week and she replied that I need to wait for a few more days but I'm getting more worried and anxious as the days shorten towards the submission date. I think I'll probably drop her an email again and hopefully she's done alr (=

One Year Anniversary!!!

19th Jan 2010 - Our one year anniversary

I arrived at his place around 11 a.m., we ordered Mac and while waiting for the food to arrive, we decided to exchange our gifts. He hid all the gifts in a wardrobe and when he opened I was instantly touched merely by the no. of gifts and also what they were. Simply shocked and touched. Tears welled up in my eyes, and before I read the card and cried even more, I passed him his gift. I could tell he was equally shocked and when he read the card I could see tears in his eyes as well (guys..so ego.. don't want to admit he was crying..lol)

After the touching moment, we had lunch and he got ready and we left the house to watch "The spy next door" at Vivo GV max. It was quite funny and action-packed, a typical Jackie Chan movie. After that, we made our way to

the mystery restaurant which he kept a secret from me except for the location - Duxton hill. So I just walked with him as he led me there by train and on foot.

We finally reached the restaurant at 06:30p.m. - Bar Restaurant on the Hill - a restaurant with a classy, vintage and romantic setting. The food was fantastic! Especially the dessert: Meringue with some fresh fruits on top (it has a special name..some superlova pavlova sth i think..heh). Anyway, this dessert is a MUST-TRY at the restaurant! You won't be disappointed!

Actually, while eating, he kept asking me the time (he spoiled his watch so now he doesn't have one), and I got suspicious because he initially told me that we were going somewhere that didn't need to pay. So I tot it was some park or sth and I could take my own sweet time to enjoy the food. But I think I ate so slow that he decided to spill the beans and told me that he bought tickets to "Songs of the Sea" at Sentosa! We have actually been wanting to watch that but somehow there was always sth. So I ate a little faster but we still had to take cab to vivo and then take the monorail because he alr bought tics for the monorail too.

The show was amazing! But it was kinda short, just 30 minutes. It was too awesome that we wanted to see more..hehe and the weather was wonderful too, no clouds in the sky but the stars and a crescent moon (=

After that he sent me home and went home.

It was just such a memorable day and he really put in a lot of effort to make sure that everything went well and that I was happy. He said that as long as I'm happy, his effort was all worth it.

New YEAR!!!

Okie..I know its been rrreeeallly long since I've updated my blog.

But since its the new year again (Oh ya..Happy belated New Year everyone!) ..I tot I should review last year's new year resolutions as always.

So let's check them out:

Resolution no. 1 - Draw even closer to God

Apparently I lost 1 kg.

Anyway, let's go back a few days back. Ok maybe 9 days back.

I went to Boat Quay with my bf to wait for the countdown and celebrate our first New Year together as a couple.

After our dinner, we went there and got a seat. Around 9. And we basically stuck our butts to the seats. So since there was a lot of time. I asked the both of us to write a list. The top 10 things you love about 2009 and the top 10 things you hate. Well apparently, we couldn't finish our hate list but we finished our things we love list (=

After that we made 3 resolutions for ourselves for 2010 and also for each other. But that's a secret ;p

We waited till 12 mn for the fireworks display too and went back after that. It was just such a memorable day =D even though it was crowded everywhere.

EXAMS OVER!!!

It seemed as though it was yesterday that I just announced that my exams are over. But that was like only 4 months ago. Time flies so fast huh...

I'm so excited abt later! One thing because it's Jac's 21st chalet and another because I can finally see my bf!!! Although it's been like 5 days since I last met him but I still miss him a lot!!!

And I was upset with him ytd and turned off my phone the entire day. But when I finally decided to speak to him, it turned into sth funny...

bf: so why you turn off ur phone? don't want to talk to me ah?
me: no la...of course not!..just...you know..don't want other people to call me?
bf: really? I tot you didn't want to talk to me because I made u upset..
me: yeah..actually mmm...abit la..like partly because of that...
[silent pause]
me: like...99%
bf: HAHAHA so 1% is because you don't want to talk to everyone else and 99% is because of me??
me: Yep =p
bf: HAHA gosh..you're just that cute (=

And we just laughed and laughed. I can't even control myself because it was that funny. And got some other funny stuff too. heh. Yeah..ended up forgiving him...just some small issue...no point getting mad at him for so long. I always can't stay mad at him for very long anyway..dunnoe why..hehe :p

Surprises

Today is one of our monthly anniv again..and this time my bf wanted to bring me somewhere we've never been before.

He brought me to habourfront and bluffed me by saying that we were going to Mt Faber (which actually we've gone there before). But then he led me to wait for the bus to Labrador park, and it was at that point he revealed to me where we were going.

Hehe, we had lots of fun just walking around, although for a short while only. He said he wanted to bring me there to see the sunset but then sigh, the sky was so gloomy and there was this group of big dark clouds covering the sun. I think we'll probably go there again, when the weather is super good, to see the sunset again.

Anyway, there was another surprise. At first before we went to habourfront, he brought me to this place to get a gift for me. I went to the toilet when he paid for the gift and I didn't realize that he bought sth else for me as well! Somehow I was so blur that I didn't realize he bought a giant card for me also. All along till the park, I tot he was carrying a file he bought for me. Haha, it was only when he pulled out the card from the bag did I realize that it was actually a card and not a file. LOL. I was pretty touched but blur at the same time because I'm still sick. heh.

We then went to the pastamania at habourfront to eat and went home after that (=

Wild wild wet adventure!!

Hehe..went to wild wild wet with my darling yesterday. Was supposed to go on sunday but it rained..so thank God the sun was shining so brightly yesterday hehe (=

We had lots of fun!!! Especially on that big round float thing that slide down from the top. We sat that with another couple and I screamed my head off for at least the first part of the journey which was like a roller coaster. I didn't even dare to open my eyes because it was going so fast, I was so scared I'll be flung off, even though he was holding on to my hand. lol.

We enjoyed the "Tsunami" the most, where it was just waves, and it was really relaxing and fun!

After that, we went to eat at BBQchicken at E-hub. The chicken at restaurant is just fantastic! I ordered "Jerk BBQ" which is kind of like just the chicken drumstick, barbequed with a special korean bbq sauce. The chicken was sooo tender and juicy. Really, one of the best chicken I have ever tasted! Do try there!

And today..he surprised me again. hehe.

I was waiting at the bus-stop for my bus and looking at the floor when at the corner of my eye, I saw someone walking towards me, so I wanted to move away and let him pass. Little did I know, it's my darling!! lol. He bought food for me again, because he know I sure won't eat dinner or no time to buy. (I did eat..hehe but quite little..not really hungry)

Then he sent me to school and went home after he ate there because his mum cooked dinner and I know he's really tired too.

Touched again..=')

Hehe my darling surprised me again!! =))

He had to go somewhere near my school today for some work stuff and I thought he was gonna go home after that coz neither of us know what time he would end actually and I know he's tired. I also dunnoe what time I would end. But around 8 plus, my lecturer said today shld end quite early and I was quite happy so i msged him that I would end early today.

He thought I would end really early and actually he finished work at around 8 plus but instead of waiting for me in school he decided to wait for me at the bus-stop that I always alight. He called me at 9:25 thinking that I'd already finish class, but I haven't and I replied him that class might not end early after all (apparently my lecturer just have so much stories lol). I also asked if he just ended and he said ya and he's pretty tired from his work today. So I asked him to sleep early tonight as I tot he was on his way home.

I was so wrong. I called him when I walked out of school and he told me he's waiting for the bus to go home so I made my way home as usual unaware of what was coming up. When I alighted the bus, he was just sitting at the bus-stop right in front of me. I stood speechless with my jaws dropped and just stared at him. Again like last time I asked him why he was there when I thought he was actually waiting for the bus to go home.

He told me that when he called me at 9:25 he just reached the bus-stop. He thought since I would end early, so instead of going home, he wanted to surprise me. When I arrived at the bus-stop it was already 10:30 p.m. I felt so bad but yet really really touched because I didn't expect class to end late instead and although he was tired he still came down to see me even for awhile.

I shouldn't have told him that I will end early, but I tot if I could go home early we'd be able to talk and sleep earlier today..so I wanted to let him know. But little did I know....=( sigh.

Anyway I just don't know how to describe how I'm feeling now because I'm more than touched. I saw him sooo tired and it made me feel so like heart-wrenched yet extremely loved, warm and touched at the same time. I told him that he could have just gone home when I told him that I won't end early after all since he's so tired, but he said that since he traveled all the way, he was just going to wait for me.

He was also telling me of some activities he had planned for us next week, and I'm just so excited (= because part of it has the harry potter movie in it too! hehe can't wait!!

Great day today!!!

Hehe..I had such a great time with my darling today!! (=

Went to his place first for lunch...and then lunch was so full (I had like probably 2-3 times more than my usual serving of rice) that we fell asleep on the sofa. I was so full, I could hardly walk and I felt so super drowsy after that. He ate a lot too. lol. We were actually intending to go to the supermarket straight after lunch..but he fell asleep first...then after I sat down..I just fell asleep too. hahaha! I woke up earlier though...to wash the dishes and it rained.

So we ended going to the supermarket later than we expected hehe. It was fun shopping together and after we reached back at his place, we unpacked the stuff and played 2 rounds of cluedo before we left.

I suggested playing cluedo because the last time we played, I lost to him 3 rounds and after some training and playing on my own, I kinda learnt the trick to winning or playing it well at least haha...so I wanted to challenge him. We had so much fun playing and it was a draw 1-1 (hehe next time we'll play more rounds when we have more time :p).

After that we left the house to go cycling! We went to pasir ris park to cycle for about 1 hour plus close to 2 hours. It was more of a leisure cycle. We would cycle and sit down to take breaks, enjoy the sea breeze, the view...took some great photos (thanks to his skills hehe. I need more time to adjust to my new phone lol).

After the cycle, we went to white sands for dinner and I went back by cab because I was pretty tired alr. I had so much fun today that I rmbed I was tired only when I reached home. I finally feel more relaxed from all the last term's stress and I think I'm now finally ready to take on this term's even more stress. hehe.

surprise surprise!

hehe haven't updated for sometime.

Hmmm the holidays are definitely over )= but at least now school is still not too bad hehe.

Anyways, I am so happy that my bf is back from reservist!!! Finally lor...after one week...At least he got call and talk to me everyday for a while...so I'm pretty contented (=

And..just last saturday (or the saturday that just passed), my mum kinda surprised me. Well...I don't know if it can be considered a surprise but something great came out of it..lol.

I met Celine first before I went to meet my mum at paragon. I asked her why she's going paragon again because we just went there last week. She just said she needed to buy something.

Backtracking to last last saturday, my handphone batt died and we walked into the m1 shop hoping to buy a battery (because it's spoiled anyway) so we looked at some phones and my mum asked me if maybe i wanted this Nokia phone which had really small and numerous buttons.But I told her I prefered the Samsung Omnia and I don't mind waiting for the tariff rebate (something like discount for my bill) to end on january next year before I buy a new phone.

Back to the saturday, when I reached paragon I gave her a call and she told me she was at the m1 shop, so I was wondering like why would she be at the m1 shop. It turns out she had been there earlier to look at the Samsung Omnia phone and the latest Samsung jet phone and compared with others as well.

She asked me if I liked the Samsung Jet. I just gave her a are-you-sure look and asked her if she was really serious in buying it for me. She just replied that if I really liked it then she will. I told her the tariff rebate would be gone if we bought a new phone but she said it's ok.

Wow, to think she said ok when like half a year ago she said no when I asked if I could get a phone myself but the tariff rebate would be gone.

So I decided on the Samsung Jet because its more suitable for me and also my mum said it was the latest model too..so it's better to get the latest.

I asked her after that if it was an advanced birthday/christmas/random gift but she just said "anything you think". LOL. I also told her that it was actually the first phone she had ever got for me. hehe.

Somehow these few months I could feel my mum's attitude towards me and our relationship has become much better. Is it because I'm turning 21? lol

EXAMS OVER!!!

Wooo!!! finally exams over!!! That's only one good news out of 3 news.

What's the two bad news?

1. I need to submit an assignment on wednesday which I am still 1/4 through.
2. New term starts next week.

sigh. anyway..those aside..I'm so glad the exams are over. I've been studying to madly this week that I really need a break. At least from thursday onwards. lol. but only for a few days before school will start next week.

Today after the paper, we had our clique gathering to celebrate our end-of-exams and rahim's birthday. It was funny how murali sang so loud it made everyone in the restaurant turn their heads until we stopped singing. lol. After that they went to watch "drag me to hell" while me, jac, michelle and stan went to the arcade to play. Then I went to meet my bf at tpy...he came to meet me even though he was tired, after his work...so I really appreciate that (= hehe. We walked and spent some time for a while before he sent me home and went home.

So now...with such a short break I'm just gonna be doing that assignment, spending more time with my bf coz he's going for reservist next week, and maybe do some revision for next term. haha. coz one module is linked from this term..so better start early :p

Alright...I'm gonna go play CS (counterstrike)...finally...after one week of not playing. hehe.

Revision/Exam week

I'm so glad that this week passed really quickly and I'm also happy that the lupus presentation went really well. Pathology revision tonight was exceptionally useful too.

Now I'm all geared up to prepare for the pathology paper next friday. Sounds scary but I think if I manage to understand all the chapters at least the basics, MCQs shld be alright, and also focus on a few very very important topics that will definitely come out for essays and since its 2 choose 6, hopefully the topics I focused on comes out. hehe.

As for clinical biochem, its really a lot of going with the flow..because there is a need to understand many metabolism and many of them is a lot of cycles and pathways and by understanding the underlying mechanisms, during the exams if we can recall the pathways, it should be alright I hope. And again for essays, there are also certain topics that will definitely come out for essays, so at least a thorough knowledge of those topics would probably help. I just don't really like memorising reference ranges.....lol

And my bf has been so understanding that I have not been spending much time with him and its going to be even less in this coming week. But he has his games to entertain him at least..so I'm not that worried. [I just wanna thank you darling for always being so patient and understanding ((= ]

So now it's all just me, my lecture notes and God.

May God give me the strength and motivation during this tough exam week and may He keep me calm during the exams, to remember all that I've learnt and to help me get through. May He also give my classmates everything they need to get through this week as well.

My bf surprised me today again...this time he really had a hard time though.

Today after my tuition I told him I'll be meeting my group mates at city hall..so he asked me where but I told him I'm not sure and I will inform him once I know and he said he will update me on what he will do after work but most likely going home.

So I really really thought he was going home because he woke up earlier today for work and he had quite a busy day. I know he's very tired.

When we decided to stay at Bakerzin, I told him but I didn't mention which branch. About half and hour later he replied me that he's home and he's going to take a nap and asked me to sms him when I reach home.

So I continued with my group discussion until 9 plus when he smsed me that he woke up. I asked how it was and he said it was uncomfortable (I later found out he had been napping at the esplanade library...that's why)..then he called me to ask where I was...and I said Bakerzin at Suntec...then he said "Oh!" He had gone around city hall just to search where I was. He went to marina square, raffles city and when he reached city link he kinda just had no idea. Poor darling... he had wanted to surprise me but he had to ask me where I was in the end..haha

When he reached I did nag at him (just a little :p) because I heard all the trouble he took just to find me, and even though he was so tired he still waited for me alone and even ate alone [so emo :( ]. But I was really touched.

I waited with him for the bus at the interchange when we reached tpy because if he sent me home he would miss his last bus and I didn't want him to take cab home. He asked me to hurry home as it was late..so I didn't get to see his bus leave.

Thanks dear for coming to surprise me and accompany me back even though you were so tired and you had one of the busiest day at work.

I just felt a bit heart-wrenched that you had to wait for me alone and had a hard time looking for me. And also because you missed the last shorter-travelling-time bus, you had to take the last super-long-travelling-time bus home and you don't mind even though you're tired.

I'm really touched that you took all this effort and I still thank God everyday for having you in my life. (=

Packed coming week

Monday - 3 mindmaps from choice of 4 topics: inflammation, cancer, radiation or necrosis for pathology (not counted in exams)
Tuesday-Wednesday - Rehearse for poster presentation on Thursday
Thursday - 2 poster presentation on lupus and genetic predisposition for autoimmune diseases for pathology (of which our group still hasn't started on the latter) - 10% coursework mark
Friday - Submission of Human physiology and pharmacology report- 15% coursework mark (still doing) & going through of revision questions in pathology revision lecture

This week I've been so stressed about all these and at least now our big poster on lupus is nearly done but we haven't started on the 2nd smaller one and we still need to rehearse on our own for the posters and submit the HPP report on Friday. Not only that, this friday is our revision lecture for pathology and next week 12th June is already our pathology exam. We still have an exam for clinical biochemistry.

Another surprise

So today, my bf surprised me again.

He knew I would be rushing to school today after tuition and probably won't have time to eat. But I made it to school by taking cab and while I was in the cab he asked me to wait for him in school and also not to buy any food yet. Of course he covered up where he was with some work thing the whole time i was going to school so I kept thinking he was doing work and didn't think he would be coming until he smsed me to wait for him.

So then he appeared not long after I did with some snacks and a drink for me.

I was really touched and tears just welled up in my eyes as I ate but he asked me to quickly eat because class was about to start...LOL.

Surprised!

I'm still smiling in a silly way and I can't seem to stop.

So my bf asked me if I was going to eat after school and I asked him why. He then replied that he just wanted to know roughly what time I would reach home so that he knows how long he'll be playing his game. But he asked me to call him once I reach tpy coz he wants to ask me sth. I was abit suspicious when he asked me to do that as I thought maybe he could be waiting for me or something. But I didn't want to expect anything and we had also already met for lunch today so I asked if he was tired and wanted to talk to me on the way home instead of waiting for me to get home. He just said that he wanted to estimate how long he needed to play his game.

And so I believed.

I was just sitting on the bus not knowing what was coming, and watching worriedly at the swine flu situation on tv mobile.

Since my darling asked me to call him when I reach tpy, as soon as I alighted the bus, I reached for my phone but while doing that I noticed someone familiar sitting at the bus stop. It was him!!! ((=

I didn't expect him to be really waiting for me at the bus-stop since we already met today. He had dinner with his colleagues at city hall, so he just wanted to drop by and surprise me.

For about 1 minute, I just stood in front of him with a shocked look on my face. He simply stood up from the seat, hugged me, gave me a kiss on the forehead and said "Surprised?"

I was speechless as I really just didn't expect it. I asked him "why did you come? I tot you're at home? like why?" He just replied "cannot ah?". I didn't know what to say. I just kept smiling.

I am still so touched coz I know that he's quite tired today too but he came just to surprise me. He accompanied me to buy supper back and he sent me home and went back himself.

It was a very short meeting but the fact that he waited for me and just wanted to see me, knowing that I miss him very much too is like just so sweet of him!! (:

Endless thanks

The uni clique gathering was really fun last night!

We met for dinner at seoul garden, of which I think the highlight of the night was yoshi dunking cooked beef into a bowl of raw eggs and then eating that.

After that, some of us continued the gathering at DXO. The music there was ok last night, although I expected better, but at least it was ladies' night. haha.

On our way there, you were like a nervous monkey who kept complaining that your hair is not fine even though I said it is, and you kept checking if you had forgotten to bring anything.

You wanted to make a good impression to everyone and I must say you did a fantastic job.

At the club, you made sure I was safe, even when I went to the bar with my friends to get a drink, I noticed you kept looking over to make sure we were alright.

I loved to dance to the music and you joined me because everyone was dancing and you didn't wanna look emo by yourself at the table, plus you wanted to dance with me. It felt so amazing to be dancing with you =)) I was also extremely amused not only by your unique dance moves but by the fact that you were also stealing glances at the man-u match on the TV and dancing at the same time. It was really not an easy feat dear. lol.

Thanks for sending me up making sure I was fine because it was late.

I enjoyed the night even more because you were with me.

Drove alone for the first time!

Finally after more than a year of obtaining my driving license...

I finally finally managed to convince my mum to let me drive alone for the first time!

I was gonna have tuition today and I thought since my student's house was quite near (not like until pasir ris or some other side of the island)...I begged and reasoned with my mum that I could drive the car alone.

And she allowed! She knew that place quite well..so she advised me on where I should park the car.

Going there was alright although i met with a short traffic jam due to lane-merging and I was slightly late as a result.

The main challenge was after the tuition..

There was a heavy thunderstorm....I could hardly see even after I put the windscreen wipers to fullspeed..I had to drive really slowly...and it was pretty exhilarating I must say. First time driving alone and such a challenge. LOL.

I made it safely home and parked alright. hehe.

So I'm just really happy I got to drive and I'm still alive =D

Nv thought u will suggest something as random as taking the first bus, any bus, that comes to the bus stop and stopping at any random stop and if we're lost just take another random bus..to nowhere, no destination, no time limit, just spending time with each other not knowing where we're stopping. Although in the end we decided to go to East Coast park lol.

hehe. I wouldn't mind going on an adventure like this next time. Anywhere as long as I'm with you.

Today is my grandmother's third-year death anniversary (lunar calendar).

It feels as though just yesterday that I took care of her...

......as though just yesterday that I watched her heart beat slowly drop...

I can't believe 3 years have passed and how I've lived through this 3 years without my grandmother. The 1st and 2nd year were the toughest as my mother and I struggled living together. But now life is much better and I know my grandmother will be happy if she's still living now knowing that there's someone special in my life who loves me as much as she does (:

I find myself getting more forgetful nowadays...I think maybe too many things to study??? brain really overload alr...haha.

First lecture was cool...lecturer was good except sometimes she tends to divert a little and elaborates too much..(there's a line between elaborating just enough and elaborating too much..sometimes when u know too much..u tend to explain a little more and makes it more complicated)

And I just wanna thank you, my dear, for coming to school to fetch me today without me knowing (: Just nice when I needed an extra hand to help carry my heavy lecture note and a reference book :P hehe. Somehow you always appear unexpectedly when I need help, be it an extra hand, or when I need a smile or a good laugh...you always know ((:

New term

The new term is starting tmr....I've looked through the lecture notes and the new modules look tough, challenging yet interesting..hehe...kinda can't wait to start..and I wonder if the lecturers would be good.

Anyways...the holidays passed so fast...and as the course continues...the modules get harder and harder and this is when the pressure just adds up.

I hope with God's grace and my bf's encouragement and support, I would hopefully do well for this coming term (:

EXAMS OVER!!!!!!!!!!

YAY!!! The moment I've been waiting for! The minute I submitted my paper..I was like "Freedom!!" hehe. And Valentine's Day!!! haha.


After the exam, our big clique had lunch at pizza hut at Plaza Singapura...after that we shopped...and I came home for awhile to put my heavy textbook because it was troublesome to carry around. After that we caught the movie "The wedding game". It's really more of a comedy and it was quite sweet at the end. I love the wedding dresses that she posed in too..except for the last one..which I thought was just ok.


Anyways..after the movie...I went to meet Leonard. I was so happy to see him again after a few days of not meeting because of my exams and his assignment. The whole day I was just looking forward to meeting him hehehe ((:

When I'm with him, I just forget all my fears, troubles and sadness...all I feel is happiness and bliss :D


It's funny how I still have butterflies in my stomach whenever I meet him....and before we leave...I always dread saying goodbye. I simply cherish every single moment we have and at least now I have one week of holiday...so we can spend more time together ((:

Exam tmr!!!

The time has finally come.....


Tomorrow would be the immunology paper and I'm really praying hard that "complement system" will come out as one of the essay questions....but we'll see hehe.


As always..I'd always plan post-exam activities as a way to motivate myself to study really hard and look forward to after the exams!!! hehehe.


Some activities include as usual...watching DVDs...reading...and now maybe cross-stitch. But then I look at my new time table and I only have about 1 1/2 weeks of holiday. Pretty disappointing huh.


But...something I'm gonna really really look forward to the most is spending Valentine's day with my darling!!!


We are so looking forward to that special day...especially when it's our first Valentine's day together.

CNY. PMS. Exam. Stress.

Hmmm I just realised I haven't updated in a really looong time.

Hehe anyways, Chinese New Year was fun .. although up till the eve I still wasn't in the mood. And it was weird that just yesterday I was walking along the street and wondering "eh? Is Chinese New Year here yet? Oh ya...it is." Then I laughed to myself because clearly...I'm stressed.

Exam in just about 6 days. I'm super extremely stressed. Why is it that I can understand when I read but then my memory is not as good as before?

Stupid PMS. Always makes me forgetful. Why am I so unlucky as to have my study week fall on the week I have PMS and it makes me cranky and forgetful. Crap. See what I mean?

Oh...and I went to get Britney Spears' latest album "Circus" yesterday too. Like finally. It's a great album! 4.5 /5 hehe.

The time of the (last day of the) year again...

Yep...it's the time of the year when everyone is making new year's resolutions.

Let's look back at the resolutions I made last year...

1.Draw even closer to God
2. To stay healthy
3. Score well for the first stage of my degree
4. Pass on my first driving attempt (with God's help of course)
5. Make even more friends

Let's see..

Resolution no.1 - Draw even closer to God
Although at one point in time, I was further and further away from Him, I drew closer to Him at one turning point and now, I'm full of faith again (:

Resolution no.2 - To stay healthy
Hmm..well..although this year I landed in the Emergency room once for giddiness, I'm now leading a better lifestyle. I've gained 2 kg last week..been eating more...exercising more (like jogging and cycling every week). Yeps. Just need to stay healthy and strong.

Resolution no.3 - Score well for the first stage of my degree
Definitely did (:

Resolution no.4 - Pass on my first driving attempt (with God's help of course)
I passed and definitely with God's help.

Resolution no.5 - Make even more friends
Indeed I did :D

So...my next year's resolutions are gonna be along the same lines:

Festive Season

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!

Wow, what a year it has been. So many events happened to me. Major. Minor. All sorts of shapes and sizes lol.

Anyway now that a New Year is coming soon, I'm gonna live a more satisfying and fulfilling life, hopefully go through the new year with as less sadness and more happiness as possible. hahaha.

I've come to realise many things about myself this year. Did some soul-searching sometimes. Thought about things that I've done. Regretted many that I've said or done. But what's done is done. All I can do is learn from my mistakes and start a new year fresh and clean!

Update on my cousin

Just an update on my cousin...

He's already discharged from the hospital on thursday. When I went to visit him on Wednesday he was already so much better, not vomiting and not having fever.

So Thank God for that and also many thanks to all of you kind souls out there who have kept him in prayer. May God bless you all (:

My poor cousin

Sigh...my youngest cousin, Shao Jun, is in the hospital right now.

He was admitted on Sunday because he kept on vomiting since that afternoon. Even now, he is still vomitting, just at a lesser frequency and he also has fever. The doctor said that it's gastroenteritis or more commonly known as gastric flu.

Poor kid, he didn't even get to sleep well these few days, just catching a short nap now and then. He also hasn't ate anything since sunday afternoon as whatever he ate he just vomited. So he has been on drips too. And he's only 4...

All I can do is just to pray for his recovery.

May God heal him so that he can be back to his cute self again.

Praise the Lord!

Thank God, He blessed the weather on Saturday that it didn't rain!

It has been raining everyday for last week and I was so worried that it will rain again on saturday and then we'll not be able to go to Botanical Gardens to enjoy the flowers, birds and insects haha. But Thank God, it didn't rain and I also prayed that we'll finally be able to see some blue in the sky because the rain has caused the sky to be filled with clouds that there was hardly any blue. And there was definitely a lot of blue in the sky haha.

Anyway, I had a great time with ks at Botanical Gardens and it was a lot of fun haha (:

And now for High School musical 3... I went to watch it alone on Friday when it was released. It was amazing!!!! I actually cried too...heh..although a little embarrassed because I was crying alone. But it was just...the best! I loved every single minute of it! Definitely worth my time and money!
